New Hampshire Information Center

After two years of exhaustive analysis, the Free State Project chose New Hampshire as its destination. New Hampshire was the first of the original colonies to declare independence from the United Kingdom, and its liberty-loving culture has persisted to this day. With its small population, strong economy, and superlative quality of life, New Hampshire is the best place for the liberty-minded to pursue the goal of small government.

To address the most common needs of those considering a move to the "Live Free or Die" state, the FSP NH Information Center provides these pages:

  • NH Jobs answers everyone's #1 issue--how to find a job (not hard given New Hampshire's exceedingly low unemployment).
  • NH Housing facilitates finding a place to rent or buy.
  • Moving Guide has everything you want to know about the logistics of moving to the Free State - lots of helpful tips.
  • NH Communities provides maps and a list of the cities, towns, and counties for those deciding not whether but where to live in New Hampshire.
  • NH Life is for those wondering what NH life is like and whether they will enjoy it.
  • NH Activism lists some NH pro-liberty organizations already reinvigorated by FSP early movers.

This web site does not pretend to be comprehensive; several others provide more general information. You can get some basic facts at 50States.com, figures from U.S. Census Bureau Information, and NewHampshire.com is a great all-around information source. Wikipedia is your best place for general background, and VisitNH.gov is stunningly slick. If you have any further questions, raise them in our discussion forum or email us at NewHampshire@freestateproject.org.

If you are interested in visiting New Hampshire and seeing the Free State Project community, we would be glad to show you around. Simply let us know through our Visit NH page and we'll get in touch with you. If you'd like to learn the experiences of those who have already moved, watch some Made the Move videos.
