Presidential candidate Ron Paul enthusiastically endorses the Free State Project!

Porcupine Irena Goddard and friends recently caught up with Dr. Paul in New Hampshire to inquire about his support of the FSP - see the video. Dr. Paul was a featured speaker at the last FSP Liberty Forum.

New Hampshire Liberty Forum

The Liberty Forum is the FSP's BIG Winter event in New Hampshire. We're busy gearing up for another great one, scheduled for January 3rd to the 6th in Nashua, NH. We have even more exciting speakers lined up - check here to see them all. Keynote speakers still TBA! Hotel has limited space so please reserve your rooms now.

People who came early last year were looking for something to do - come to the shooting range with us. If you are a newbie we will have qualified range instructors on hand to help you out. Then head on up the the New Hampshire State House to see all the action. After that relax with a drink at the Welcome Reception back at the Crowne Plaza with some very special guests (details to follow).

By popular demand we have added a 4th track of sessions on Saturday. That means more CHOICES for you. Stay tuned for the announcement of the full schedule. Register today!

The Porcupines Go To MassCann

On September 15, the Merrimack Valley Porcupines joined representatives of NHFree.com, Free Talk Live, the New Hampshire Coalition for Common Sense Marijuana Policy and thousands of others at the Boston Freedom Rally XVIII. The rally is an annual event hosted by MassCann (The Massachusetts Cannabis Reform Coalition) in their ongoing efforts to achieve a more rational and decent drug policy. The event was a productive one for the freedom lovers, giving them an opportunity to spread the word that liberty can be achieved in our lifetime, to distribute literature, and to sign up new members of the Free State Project.

The rally was also a chance to have fun, with live music, speakers, and plenty of good folks to talk with. Judging by the video available online, a good time was had by all... except the very dour state troopers, of course.

FSP Local Group Activity in Seattle

On Sept. 14, several Puget Sound area Porcs met at the Westin Hotel in Seattle for the Ron Paul rally there. We did some Ron Paul and FSP promotion, but more importantly, I got to meet some old friends from Porcfest and some new activists I'd never met before. As someone who's regularly involved with FSP members, I'd say that these kinds of events are key to building, and maintaining support both within the FSP, and with the greater American people as well. When we make pro freedom meaningful, inclusive, and fun, we help people warm up to new, powerful ideas, and enable them to have a stake in what's going on. When they have a stake in seeing freedom and liberty succeed, they are motivated to MAKE things happen, and change their environment for the better. Action of the Month - Looking for the B*** Job

Some jobs are just no fun at all. Imagine being a pachyderm proctologist in Pittsburgh, or a cattle catheterist in Cleveland, or a hummingbird hematologist in Houston. What all these not-fun jobs have in common is... ain't none of them in New Hampshire! Whether boring or bracing, lucrative or lacking, any job you have in The Free State is better than one in the "lower 49" (and you won't have to pay a state income tax on it). Free State Shooting Match - The Big Bull

The politicking season is heading our way. The candidates will spread out across the country like a plague of locust chewing and jawing their way into our lives and wallets. There's little stopping it (just the Free State Project, of course :) . There will also be an attendant swarm of pundits, commentators, bloggers, and prognosticators bloviating their way from one coast t'other. Hunker down in your compound as you may, there is no escape. Like an a'a lava flow of hot smelly, bovine excrement suffocating everything in their path, they're coming. But before we get too depressed, let's have a little fun. An easy shoot this time around, The Big Bull. A single, large bull's-eye, with twenty chances to score a hit. Each shot in the black scores one, maximum score of 20. We've koozies for beer,
So spend without... worries that the store doesn't have something you'll
like.

There are lots of nifty items in the store. From collectible knives to
cheap t-shirts, from magnets to mugs. Plenty of ways to help support,
and more importantly, help promote the Free State Project and beautiful
New Hampshire. And while I hate to be one of those that keep pushing
you-know-what earlier each year, the season of credit card meltdown is
just around the corner. (ouch, ouch. Pardon me while I self-flagellate
for the preceding sentence; some people never learn.)

There are shirts and gear,
And mugs without peer,
P.C.s for our cheer,
That will last all... the time it takes to achieve Liberty in Our
Lifetime.

*P.C.= Pocket Constitution (So, OK, you try to rhyme that)

In the affiliation department: Don't forget to see our New Hampshire Merchandise (link on the right-hand side of the merchandise/store page). There are NH posters, NHToDo Magazine and NH flags in a variety of sizes. (The FSP gets a 10% cut of the flag sales, so do your part :) . You'll also find the fantastic FSP "Liberty Cards", great for handing out, sending out and leaving out - on a friendly merchant's counter that is - of course, never left out of mind. - Phil

PorcFest 2008 will be the week of June 9th - 15th at Gunstock Mountain Resort

If you will be planning to get a hotel, please make a reservation as soon as possible. Laconia Bike Week will start June 14th (and end June 22nd), so there will be increased demand for that weekend. Our weekend is not the 'big' Bike Week dates and area hotels currently have ample availability; but once the hotels are sold out, that’s it. Here's a list of nearby hotels. Additional PorcFest 2008 details will be announced in the November FSP News!.

Concord in the Top Ten Places to Retire

U.S. News & World Report has chosen Concord, NH as one of the top ten places to retire in the United States, thanks to its friendly community, beautiful surroundings, and easy access to art and culture.
